James Otis Elementary is located in East Boston. The SLUG sites are coordinated by Nancy Mullane, science specialist. Otis has two classrooms with indoor gardens, and many classes get to benefit from the outdoor growing space.

Here are a few shots of one of the first grade classes working away with SLUG. Below, two students water young seedlings.
Students fluff the worm bin and spray it down to make sure the worms' habitat is nice and moist. Worms breathe through their skin so this is important!
The Otis Grow lights are looking great!
